Floowork

by Sergey Semichev

When we dance solo or dance with a partner, we always interact with the floor. By dancing we play with gravity. We can give in to gravity and flow into the floor, or we can resist gravity and push away from the floor. We can slide, spin or roll and it will always be a game with gravity and an interaction with the floor. Floor always helps and supports us. In our workshop, we will learn how to use our body while working with the floor. Distribute weight and use our body and the body of our partner when moving on the floor and when interacting with the floor. The floor surface is the most important reference point for orientation in space while moving. We will learn to use eye contact with the space and partner when working the floor. And of course, we encourage you to play because the presence of a partner always brings elements of the game.
